Textile data

The textiles are made of 100% virgin wool.  Grey Trønder Sheep wool in natural heathered greys (weft). Norwegian off-white wool as contrast. Jacquard weave with extra fine worsted warp. Width 170cm.

The collection is an example of processing of Norwegian wool in a 100% local value chain. The making spans a time period of several months, encompassing every stage from a special hand sorting of the raw wool to textile design and the weaving of cloth. Our production partners have decades of experience and combine the use of traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing techniques. The wool is sheared by members of the Breeding Society for Grey Trønder Sheep, many of which are organic farms.

This is a natural product based on hand sorted raw wool and no chemicals have been applied. The annual sheep shearing will produce some colour variation compared to swatches provided, and one batch will never be exactly the same as the previous, or the next. Over time exposure to the elements, such as direct sunlight, will alter the character of the textiles. Care should be taken to avoid contact with any sharp objects. The textiles are not intended for heavy use or high-traffic areas. Dry clean only. The wool fibre is water and stain repellent and has a natural flame resistancy. Most Norwegian wool is certified organic by the official Nordic ecolabel the Swan and thus documented one of the world's most sustainable textile fibres.
